Mein Herze Schwimmt

The fear of religious condemnation embedded within J.S. Bach’s cantatas is reframed as an internal psychological conflict, drawing on the director’s personal experience of living with obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Feelings of overwhelming worthlessness, the perception of oneself as irredeemable, and a yearning for inner reconciliation are not bound by time. Through the fusion of baroque music, film and dance, ‘Mein Herze Schwimmt’ explores these enduring human experiences, bringing contemporary audiences into closer dialogue with the spiritual struggles expressed in Bach’s work.
